Department Information

Clayton Police Department is staffed by two paid employees, and twelve volunteer employees.  The paid personal include the Chief, and the Assistant Chief.  Both the Chief and Assistant Chief are veteran Officers, and Supervisors at the Plainfield Police Department.   Our twelve volunteer employees have backgrounds ranging from sales, corrections,  and public safety.   Even though our Department may be small in size the resources brought to the Department by the paid, and volunteer Officers are amazing.  Some of these resources include: State Certified Instructors, Field Training Specialist, Evidence Collection, Investigations, Crash Investigations and Reconstruction, Community Policing, Defensive Tactics, HAZMAT, and Standard Field Sobriety Testing
